cards,

I've been out of comission for a while, and I am back and ready to play. Here is a card I that I wanted to share, it is very simple and beautiful.

I made it with some old SU printed paper and the SU Boho Backgrounds stamp set. I love this stamp set it has a wonderful background stamp with it that is just too fun, I hope SU keeps it around for a while.

My next blog I'll be featuring a very special guest, be on the look out for my next ramblings.

30 years later...

With all the excitement I forgot to share,
Hunny and I have been married 30 yrs today.
I had grand plans for our evening. Peter had mentioned a resturaunt the Villa Nova that he wanted to try so I planned to take him there for dinner ( He usually handles these things, so what a wonderful suprise for him after 30 yrs). And as I said he usually handles this, I guess it's good to call ahead and make sure the resturaunt is open lol. We ended up at Out Back, had dinner and came home and as he snores away I play on the computer. I guess it takes 30 yrs to get to the place that your not sitting up stewing becuase the day wasn't celebrated in a more grandios style. I have to say I'm glad it's still me and him, he is my best friend and it is true opposites do attract we are like hunny and hot tea instead of oil and water, over the past 30 years we have melted together and it taste pretty good!

My Sister

I have known for a while now that my sister Bernadette hasn't been herself. The past few months when I have called to talk to her I noticed she was tired all the time and you could hear it in her voice. About two weeks ago she finally went to the doctor. They took some test and this past Monday she was given the diagnosis, stage four cancer in her kidney. What a blow to all of us. The doctors told her there was nothing they could do. So my sister informed us all that we would continue to live life like we have been just loving each other more. My Sister is an amazing woman who has touched so many lives and everyone began praying on her behalf. Well Thursday she went to an appointment with another doctor she had already set up and before she left the house her doctor called to say she had met with another doctor and they thought they could remove the kidney, then when she went to her appointment the doctors there assured her that they were sure they could do the surgery and scheduled her for Friday May first. Friday they called back to say they will be doing the surgery Monday April 27. It will be 4-6 hurs of surgery, 5-7 days in the hospital and two months to be back to normal. This has been a roller coaster ride for sure, please keep her in your prayers she is very precious to me. You never know what God will do next!! I'll keep you posted.

Thank you so much Sandy

My friend Cheryl tagged me this morning so I'm gonna play along . . .We are supposed to post the 6th picture from the 6th folder in our photo files and then tag 6 more people and ask them to do the same. Since I'm just learning how to get to my photos, I was surprised at how easy I found this one:

This really is the name of the file and it explains it all. My grand babies wanted to fix my hair and once they got started Aunt Steve had to get hers done too. I'm glad you can't see me, I had every hair accessory we had left in my hair.

TOO fun and great memories.

OK . . .now I'm gonna tag ! Sherry , Madeline, Cindy, Claudia and The Scrapbook Shoppe . But I'm gonna change it up a bit, since I only have 5 Blogs I'm sending out to, I want you to do your 5th file and 5th picture. I can't wait to see what you got Ladies!!! If anyone else wants to play, feel free! Tag ALL your friends!

Card classes

This is one of the cards for my Easter class on March 28, 2009.

We will be making 6 cards, 3 different styles and 6 suprise items to help celebrate the Easter Holiday. If you go by the Scrapbook Shoppe you can see all of what we will be making. Don't forget to sign up.

Happy Birthday

I have some things I'm working on for a mothers day card class. Usually when I do a card class we make at least 10 cards. Well who needs 10 Mothers day cards? So Cheryl and I have decided we will still make 10 cards, But here is the switch. We will be making 2 Mothers day cards, a beautiful card holder with 4 cards to put in them as a gift for your Mother and Mother-in-law.
But until I unveil my creation, here is a card I made for a Young friend of mine, She was turning 13 and I wanted to make her something girly, but not childish. The Delight in Life sentiment will always remind her to enjoy her life to the fullest.

Happy Birthday

The last birthday of the month is my beautiful daughter Honesty. It's hard to believe our baby is turning 26! Time sure does fly when your having fun, and fun we have had!!!

Honesty all through our raising children I was most concerned for you, a girl so many things can happen to girls. But from the beginning you have proven time and again that you're not afraid of nothing. You set your mind on things and have gone for it. You may have had to pick yourself up and brush yourself off, with a few bruises and bumps, but you didn't care you just keep going. This may in part have to do with being raised with two brothers that didn't give you a minute to forget they were, "your big brothers". As I laughed my way through all the antics that you all pulled on one another, I sit back with a smile on my face and contentment in my heart. Knowing that with a little help from us you have grown into a wonderful woman that can take care for herself and hold your head up high. You can fight for what you want and know that the gashes and blood are only signs of the determination you have and it will all wash off and heal up eventually. Yet you are loving and caring and are there to help anyone who has been banged around themselves fighting for the things they want and you can be happy and proud for them just as you are proud of yourself. I love you Honesty, more than you can imagine. In my heart always you will always be my little girl, But the sparkle in my eyes is the woman you are today. Honesty you know your my favorite and will always be, you hold a place in my heart that no one will ever hold! I love you sweety and wish you the Happiest Birthday of all.

My Hunny

So the The next Birthday of the month is my Hunny. This year he turns 51, wow !! Hunny is an amazing man who has always put his family first. He has worked hard all his life to make sure I was able to stay home and raise our three wonderful children. I thank him soo much for the time that I had with them, I would have missed so much if I'd have had to work.
He made sure we went on a vacation every year on one salary. And he has taught my children so many things, it is amazing the stuff he knows. He is a Jack of all trades and the master of quit a few things. If you need him to do something or figure something out and he doesn't know how right off, if you will give him a day or two he will figure it out and come up with an answer. He is constantly learning and adding to his knowledge. Some things I love about him are, that he reads the Bible, dictionary, encyclopedias from cover to cover over and over when he gets the whim. He has a serious nature and I'll catch him trying not to smile. I absolutely love that he is an amazing grandpa!!! My kids say we switched roles from when they were kids lol. These are just a few things I love about him, he is an amazing man!!
30 years ago when I thought I was in love, who figured Hunny would truly become the love of my life?
You my wonder why I spell him Hunny. well he is what the buzz is all about in my life, he has always been the hive where all the hunny making has gone on. I may not have realized it when I as young and stupid, but now I know and I am soo glad and BLESSED to still be making hunny with this man!!! I love you sweety, Happy Birthday.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!!

My friend Elizabeth brought this birthday card her husband gave her to the crop Friday at the Scrapbook Shoppe. We were all oo-ing and aa-ing over it, the words were soo sweet!!!! towards the end it says "I know it's your birthday, But I'm the one with the gift" Tooo sweet RC!
So after looking at it for a few minutes I thought " Hey, I have that stamp" so I pulled it out and made this card, Rc's card to his beautiful wife Elizabeth was my inspiration.

These are my versions of RC's wonderful birthday card to Elizabeth.

Ladies we'll have to wait to see what he does next year ;)

Birthdays

My good friend Shirley was turning 29 again and I wanted to give her something special for this wonderful time in her life. I found a site by andrea walford that made a cute little bag that held three jars and tried it out. It turned out just as the directions said it would woo hoo!! Thank God for tutorials!!!
Well the bag wasn't the size I needed for Shirleys goody bag, so I took the measurements from the box of candy I was giving her and made my own bag, and with the scraps from the bag I made her a matching card. Happy Birthday Shirley, I hope this one is better than the last one!!!!

Daisy Bucket Card Class

Ladies here is the Daisy bucket class for next month. We will be making cards with the Daisy Bucket Printed Paper and you will receive a Daisy Bucket sentiment stamp only avalible with the class.
Registration is now open.... Please call the shoppe to sign up 706-321-0202

Here is a card I made for the card challenge at the Scrapbook Shoppe. It was our first challange and at first I was sweating it out waiting to see if anyone would perticipate. In the end we had six cards and Ms. Betty won the contest.
Ms. Betty does amazing Heritage pages, she just finished scrapbooking her husbands family and made one for each sibling WOW!!! Now she has started on her family. So as you can tell she doesn't have a whole lot of time for cards, but she has taken an interest. After her suprise 50th anniversary party she made a Homemade card for each guest to thank them for joining in thier celebration. From all this you can see she is an amazing woman and I proud she joined our challange, and can't wait to see what she will be working on next.

I loved this CHERRY BLOSSOM paper from the Scrapbook Shoppe, it is also carried in black. To pretty!!

So I made these cards for a friend and she loved them. This little one is done on a small note card from SU and I used their sentiments on both cards. See how simple the cards are made with paper and a sentiment stamp. Cards can be as simple or as elaberate as you like. The more you get into creating the more you'll add to them. I love to show how easy they are to make. If you have any questions feel free to contact me through my cbox. Have a good week end.
